oh yeah woodside, that sounds familiar. I know Ive driven that road more than a few times because Iv stopped at Alices restaurant before. When i lived there, i used different routes sometimes just to have a change of pace, but its been a long time ago. I was there about 2010 maybe? ..like another lifetime lol, Sanat Cruz was a fun town.

i dont remember exactly where it was, I was usually on a mission to get into the city. But the stretch Id drive is from half moon bay into santa cruz. I used to live in the mountains there. But Id take 101 and then I think hwy 92 (?).. that sounded familiar. -- 101 to 92 and then catch the coast hwy 1 for about an hour. I had to exit before getting into santa cruz to turn up into the mountian, ..what a beautiful state! ♥ lol (I suppose Im partial to it ;)

Plus getting those pics in the frame of the camera would be above my pay grade lol. But yes i know the restaurant and roads too. lol spanish is the new english. I spoke fluent spanglish in NM for over 10 years, its more common that speaking spanish there.

yes i know the restaurant well, i used to live about an hour south of half moon bay, and went through that stretch every week going back and forth to the city (SF) Gorgeous views the entire way. I like your google pics of some of the landscapes, is the place still there on the hwy with the giant metal sculptures? I almost purchased one of those but didnt know how to get it into my car lol. But I never wonder why people come from so far away just to drive that coast hwy, its like nowhere else. ♥

I figured that you'd like this pic from the Olympics' surfing comp. No one could have caught a finer image to place on a future cover of SURFER magazine and Gabriel Medina (Brazil) is the surfer to have done it. Imagine coming out of the tube, letting go of your board, and being mindful to do this. It would have been NICE to have found ourselves there, but I am content to know that someone is enjoying this once-in-a-lifetime beautiful ride. Have a good start to the new month out there ~~~ my very best to the both of you. :)

hmm whats new... lol Well the nice weather returned, thats the biggest news in these parts. That heatwave was ridiculous and I hope it doesnt return and become the new normal. Id seriously rather freeze to death. LOL@ dmv, that was one of the signs to me I was ion the right county. The last time i had to go to the dmv in Marin, I got there an hour before they opened, and still waited an hour just to get in the front door. The line was so long it was 1/2way around the building. Then another hour of waiting inside. I said "never again" 10 years ago and havent been back. Ad no commute traffic either. Im used to it now, but I was amazed after moving up here how travel time was the real time to reach a destination lol. I didnt have to add an extra hour (or 2) for traffic jams. But the internet service os sketchy and there are no mailmen, so its a give/take type lifestyle lol

Nah, I didn't know that but it makes perfectly good sense ... considering that it is a part of the French Republic. I had wondered where they were going to hold the event and if the quality of the waves would make it questionable. So, between you and me, the surfers can't complain about the break ~~~ everyone in the competition should have some experience riding this wave. And what a beautiful place to hold an Olympic competition ~~~ please, sign me up! What should my sign say? WILL WORK FOR A RIDE TO CHOPES ;)

yO riffster has the Northern Cal overcast weather returned Fall cant get here soon enough...yes im a native to these parts but have lived in NW Arkansas and Fargo ND...hA at "cringe" worthy twilight zone tv series...im also a fan of V the 80s tv series...that Diana was something else...sounds like your 4th was well spent...i was at the beach a few days ago and this group was beating on assortment of drums with hands very cool and otherworldly but very hypnotic and entrancing...felt very charmed by the beating array of rhythm and beats and to the side were these ladies dancing with lit hulu hoops and long rods w multi-layered lights in the night dusk-dawn...very gorgeous blonde and dark brunette was gonna say hi after 1 of them was dancing infront of me and had me in this magical twilight something that may read a little "corny" but i was bedazzled...i hope to see all of them again

I very much so like it..if i ever moved id like to move to Redondo beach or Colorado...hope your wife and you get a chance to visit soon...how was ur week

no i dont miss the bay area traffic and long lines, altho do miss a few people Ive known since forever. The busiest Ive ever seen the DMV here was when i had 4 ppl in front of me lol, usually its a quick stop but had to wait an entire 15 minutes! gasp*! haaha.. I hope you find a nice place to travel to, ..Id offer the bnb but i closed it this year bc I wanted the summer off. Ive cleaned it out and shampoo'd the carpets, Im getting ready to paint it soon but need more drop cloth. But maybe next year you can find your way up the mountain :)

COOL featured ... your harmonica fades in well. Supposedly, Colorado picked the purple to represent the Rocky Mountains or so they say. You'd have to look it up. I guess there's a story behind it. We lost to them, last night ... an extra-innings affair. We have the offense to compete, but our pitching lacks. You know that once football picks up ... people will lose interest. All's GOOD here and wishing you both the very same. Sometimes, it gets me in trouble (by not planning ahead) but I am a big believer that a NEW DAY can change our course and for the better. Yeah, those young kids remind me of a line from POINT BREAK (and I apologize for sharing it) ... when Keanu Reeves said to Gary Busey that SURFING was for little rubber people that can't shave yet. The young kids are limber and their new tricks are spot on. BUT THEY ARE FEARLESS TOO and that's a good thing. ENJOY a Good Tuesday out there. :)

yeah its still hot as a rocket but it has cooled down a bit so its do-able. Its the opposite here with the temps tho, its says it will be mid 90s and it ends up being mid 80s. So the forecast is being corrected in real time, sometimes in the last hour it will change to the actual temps outside. But because the forecasts are so off, it feels cooler than what we're expecting (because it is lol) Plus the high alt just makes everything feel fresher than the bay area humidity, i dont miss that at all! lol.

THANKS, for the clip. Remember Ryan Sheckler? All I recall is the young grommet who did well for himself. I think he still hangs around his native San Clemente. The clip you gave me reminds me of LORDS OF DOGTOWN and the crew scoping for empty pools (THANKS, in part, to the Cali water crisis). Not sure if you ever watched GLEAMING THE CUBE with Christian Slater ... I think he had someone with a small plane trying to find empty pools.
